Becoming a Force of Nature online programme

Becoming a Force of Nature (BaFoN) is a three-part programme designed to help young people uncover their skills, passions and focus as aspiring change-makers. In this programme, you will:

  • Discover what you need to be an effective and fulfilled changemaker.

  • Identify new pathways to take action and engage with climate and social justice issues.

  • Learn how to bridge the gap between your vision of the future and the present day to solve unique problems.

The programme is held online four times a year and comprises three workshops, each lasting 90-120 minutes. The workshops are:

Anxiety to Agency

  • Understand the relationship between mental health and climate change.

  • Name and acknowledge difficult feelings, and their sources, in a safe space.

  • Identify resilience strategies, individually and in community with other young people.

  • Provide tools and examples for real-life applications.

Discovery

  • Find out what makes you both an effective and fulfilled change agent.

  • Understand your ‘Why’ and identify your talents.

  • Get clear on your values compass to fuel your action.

Catalyst

  • Understand the problem you want to solve.

  • Map the problem you identified in detail with a focus on the community it affects.

  • Create your action plan and next steps, using your vision as a compass.

What is the "Becoming a Force of Nature" programme?

Becoming a Force of Nature is a 3-part programme designed for young people (aged 16-35) to explore their skills, passions, and focus as aspiring change-makers. Over three sessions, participants get clear on their strengths, explore pathways for action, and develop a plan to make an impact on the world.

Who can apply for the "Becoming a Force of Nature" programme?

Anyone aged 16-35 from around the world! Our programme is global and open to all nationalities.

What are the topics covered in the Becoming a Force of Nature programme?

The programme consists of three sessions:

  1. Anxiety to Agency: Explore the relationship between mental health and climate change.

  2. Agency to Efficacy: Clarify your values and strengths as a change agent.

  3. Efficacy to Action: Understand the problem you want to solve and create an action plan

How long are the sessions in the Becoming a Force of Nature programme?

Each session is 90-120 minutes long.

How can I apply to join the Becoming a Force of Nature programme?

How much time do I need to complete the programme?

The duration of the programme is 3 weeks. You will need about 2.5 hours a week - that already includes the live sessions - to complete the programme. If your schedule doesn’t allow you to participate live in all three sessions, you can always catch up later by watching the recordings.
